Welcome to Plas Y Bryn Nursing Home, Rhôs on Sea, North Wales
Nursing Home Providing Physchiatric and Nursing Care, Supporting Enduring Mental Health
Plas y Bryn in Rhos on Sea, North Wales was built by Liverpool Sugar Farmer William Bostock in 1840. It was originally used as a summer house for the family. When he married Mary Bamber it was converted to a convalescence home for the poor from Liverpool. During the Second World War the charity ‘Saturday Fund’ also used the home for convalescence for soldiers returning from service.
In the 1950’s it was sold to Doctor Braid who registered with the Local Health Board for a Care Home to accommodate up to 53 patients until 1989. The home was then refurbished, renamed to Plas y Bryn and reopened in its present capacity.
